Brushless Servomotors are brushless permanent magnet motors; the rotating part consists of a magnetic iron core, while the fixed part consists of copper windings. Completing the equipment is position feedback that enables its accurate motion control.

These types of motors can be classified into two macro-categories:

• DC motors (also called BLDC) with keystone commutation, usually in simple applications;
• AC motors, with sinusoidal commutation, are more suitable for complex applications where the motion profiles involve more precise interpolation and control.
